Freelance Artist My name is Julie Maguda and I am a freelance artist currently living in the Pittsburgh area. I am a movie enthusiast who loves comic books and fictional characters. I’ve been creating art ever since I was a kid, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to really give it a try with my art.
While I feel as if most of my education comes from hands on experience, I did acquire a technical theater degree and take quite a few art classes along the way. I took my love for art and theater and combined the two to become a scenic painter. I’ve painted for a movie set and multiple theaters; including the Byham in Pittsburgh, but found that my true passion is in fan art and portraits. Most recently, I have been creating mini paintings on tiny canvases, but I also paint larger scale work as well. My favorite medium is acrylic paint, but I like to mix it up and use watercolor, ink, and charcoal too.
